Peck Community Center, Inc.

Board Meeting – August 28, 2023

Mission: “The board’s responsibility to the community is to conduct operations of the building in a responsible and business-like manner.”

Bryan Bell opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Officers in attendance: Bryan Bell, Roxana Stitt, David Boller, Aleta Boller, Lucretia Smith, Linda Wilbur

Absent: Janice Stroud

MINUTES - Roxana Stitt:

The July 2023 minutes were not read due to computer overheating.  Minutes will be emailed to board and published on the website.

FINANCIAL REPORT – Lucretia Smith

Income: $900.00

Expenses: $409.95

Motion to accept financial report by Aleta Boller, seconded by Julie Bell.  Passed.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: 

Fundraisers – Janice Stroud

We need event sheets for the flea market and Christmas fair.

Soup Supper – Julie

We have five volunteers. We will be having a committee meeting in September. Sam volunteered to make signs.

December Craft Show – December 2-3, 2023. Needs Event Form

Old Business 

1. Building renovations – Mini splits were installed, electrical was updated.

2. Next phase is to drop the ceiling and paint the cabinets

3. Third step is to epoxy the floors

4. Chicken dinner will be October 15th. One half chicken, cole slaw and baked beans for $15.

5. Motion to purchase ceiling tiles and hardware by Roxana Stitt, seconded by Julie Bell. Passed unanimously.

 New Business

1. Sam has a fundraiser idea – Breakfast on Sunday once a month, (pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc.)

2. Jonathan and Kim Headrick have offered to donate a stainless steel fridge for the banquet room.

3. We will be discussing increasing rental fees at the next meeting.

Miscellaneous Business – None.

Our next meeting will be September 25, 2023, 7:00 p.m. at the Peck Community Center
