COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Car Show - David Boller
The event was a monetary success. It was due to the help of all the volunteers. We got a lot more registrations and spectators than expected. Our goal was 50 cars. We surpassed that by 10:00. We had 102 registered and others showed up after registration closed. Boudreux’s saw a big boost in their business.
Presented comments from Facebook about the show. We had several good suggestions. We need to put the Square app on all sellers’ phones.
Doug at Boudreux’s has offered overflow parking.
Soup Supper – Julie – We will have a meeting at the end of June. We are doing 4 different soups. We will have it on November 4, 2023. We need to start gathering auction items. Add Mickey Sevart to the committee.
Fundraisers – Janice Stroud
Flea Market – July 8 (9:00 – 3:00), Event sheet is partially filled out, but still needs names of volunteers. We will have a shaved ice/tea food truck in addition to other vendors. Need to get vendor form online. Motion to accept event, David Boller, seconded by Lucretia Smith. Passed.

1. Update on renovations. Exterior paint is almost done. Just need to paint the windows. The yard is looking decent. Still working on sign out front. Now have lights on the sign out front. Our next project is to drop the ceiling in the big room and paint the interior. Hopefully, we will have enough money left over to put in mini splits for heating and air conditioning.

New Business
1. Val has offered to sell our t-shirts at the Market Nursery. They also donated two beautiful hanging baskets for the front entrance. If anyone is passing by and want to help keep the flowers watered, there is a spigot on the south side of the building.
2. We are thinking of adding a mural beside the front door, painting a replica of centennial belt buckle on the wood panel to the right of the entrance.
3. Analytics (Roxana) – In the past month, our Facebook page reach rose 194.5%. our highest spike was on the day of the Car Show and our second highest spike was the day we posted photos of the event. We now have 177 followers, with most being in the 35-45 age range. This month, 961 people have visited our page and 26 have become new followers.
The website (www.peckcommunitycenter.com) is now signed up for Google analytics so that we can find more ways to boost the traffic on the site.
Additions to the website since our last meeting are including a place for the minutes of each board meeting since January 2023, a page just for the Car Show photos, and continuous updating of the Google calendar.
Our building and website can now be found on the following sites: Facebook, Alignable, Eventective, MapQuest, We.Go, and Guidestar.
4. As a fundraiser to help pay for the dropped ceiling and mini-splits, we would like to offer families and businesses an opportunity to put their name or business logo on ceiling tiles for a donation of $50. We would purchase the tiles and prep them with white paint.
5. We need to repair the tile in the classroom before the Flea Market.
6. (Bryan) Proposal for rib dinner. Sunday, June 25, 2023. $15 per plate. Meals will run about $5-6 so we could make about $2,000 profit. Pick up between 3-5 p.m. We need to sell tickets beforehand so that we can control food costs. Ticket cut-off will be Monday June 20, 2023. All meals will be preordered.
Motion to accept the event by David Boller, seconded by Woody Stitt.
Passed.
7. (Roxana) Proposal for community service – Now that we are operating in the black, I think we should be offering community service opportunities to Peck and the surrounding communities. I would like to propose a Hunter Education Course in August, before hunting season begins. Tammy Epps, a certified instructor, has asked to use the center for two days for this purpose. (316-207-3580. She will need the gym for about 50 participants. No cost. No concessions. There will be 5-8 extra volunteers to teach and supervise the classes.
Motion for event by Roxana Stitt, Seconded by David Boller. Passed.
Miscellaneous Business – None.
Our next meeting will be June 26, 2023, 7:00 p.m. at the Peck Community Center
Motioned to adjourn Woody Stitt; seconded by Julie Bell. Passed.
Meeting adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
