PECK COMMUNITY CENTER RENTAL AGREEMENT
Deposit: A deposit of $100 is required to reserve the Community Center. It and the rental fee are due no later than the day of the event. The deposit will be returned in 24-48 hours only after an inspection is made of the facility. If there are no damages found, the cleaning list has been completed, all trash has been removed and everything has been put in its original place after the event, the deposit will be returned to the renter. If upon inspection some damage is detected or cleaning was not completed correctly, the renter will be notified once to correct the problem. If tape of any kind is used on the walls of the center, the deposit will be immediately forfeited. The deposit may or may not be fully refunded depending on the situation. Please make the check for the deposit of $100 an entirely separate check or payment.
Rental: The renters are responsible for all setup and teardown as well as the conduct of all persons attending the event. The fee structure is as follows:
Banquet Room – Peck Resident - $150/day Non-Resident - $200/day
Classroom – Peck Resident - $75/day Non-Resident - $100/day.
The use of the kitchen is limited to those who rent the large room, an additional fee of $25 can be added to small room rental to gain access to the kitchen.
Key: The access key can be picked up from any Member of the Board that prior arrangements have been made during daylight hours 24 hours in advance and must be returned the next day unless alternate arrangements have been made. There will be a $50 charge for any keys lost.
Setup: Setup is allowed in advance of the event as long as rental scheduling permits it. The renter may run the heat or a/c during the setup period, but is not allowed to run the heat or a/c days or hours prior to the event. Please note, the large table in the large room cannot be moved under any circumstances due to its construction. Decorations may be temporarily fixed to walls, floors and ceilings, however, under no circumstances are holes to be made in walls or ceiling to accommodate said decorations. In addition, no tape of any kind is to be used on the walls of the center. If the renter needs recommendations on how they can affix their decorations, please ask Bryan Bell, president. Use of tape will result in the immediate forfeit of the $100 deposit. The renter is responsible for any loss or damage to the Community Center and its content.
Liability: The Peck Community Center and its Board assume no liability whatsoever during the duration of the event including setup and teardown. The renter is highly encouraged to obtain a valid liability insurance policy in the amount suitable to cover the event and the attendees. If alcohol is to be served it must only be served to adults of legal drinking age and the bar/alcohol must be supervised at all times. The Community Center is to be used for legal activities only. All Illegal activities are prohibited and are subject to prosecution.
Teardown: By renting the Center you are agreeing to all the cleaning responsibilities. Cleaning includes: tables and chairs wiped with a damp cloth and put back on the rack; wet and dry spills cleaned up; the main event area and secondary areas such as bathrooms and foyer are to be swept and mopped. The restrooms must be cleaned and the toilets flushed; all countertops in the kitchen must be properly cleaned; cutlery and dishes must be washed, dried and returned to their proper place; and all trash is to be removed from the premises and disposed of properly. The Center will be examined to see if any further cleaning/organizing is necessary after the event’s closing.

Notes:
o Please put items back where they were found.
o Dish towels are for dishes and cutlery only. Please do not use them as cleaning rags.
Teardown Checklist:
o Tables and chairs should be wiped with a damp cloth before returning to the rack.
o Wet and dry spills must be cleaned up as they are made.
o All floors must be swept dry.
o Kitchen, foyer and bathrooms must be cleaned and mopped.
o Foyer floor mat should be vacuumed.
o All working surfaces in the kitchen should be cleaned and sanitized.
o All dishes and cutlery are to be washed and put away.
o Coffee urns must be emptied, washed and dried with a paper towel. Leave lids ajar.
o Coffee grounds should be thrown in the garbage; not down the sink drain.
o No excess food, sauces or fat should be put down the sink drain.
o Do not leave any food or dishes behind.
o All garbage is to be removed from the premises and disposed of properly.
Closing up Checklist:
o Ensure that the oven and all elements are turned off.
o Bathroom lights are turned off.
o All inside lights are turned off.
o Ensure all windows and doors are locked.
o Air conditioner in the small room is turned off.
o Mini-splits in the large room are turned off (or set to lowest temperature during winter months).
o Heater timer in the small room is turned off.
o Thermostat in the foyer is set to its lowest setting.
o Keys returned to a Board Member.

All payments are to be made to the Peck Community Center generally at the Center when receiving the keys on the day prior to the event. Payment by cash or check will be accepted.
As a reminder, if alcohol is to be served, a Liability Insurance Policy is highly encouraged for the event. A copy made available prior to the event as proof of coverage for the event would be appreciated.
Please keep our neighbors in mind during your event. You are responsible for you and your guests’ behavior during the event. Any disruptive or loud activities, especially outside, will be reported to the authorities and will be dealt with by them.
Excellent cleanup is needed to get any or all of the deposit refunded. An inspection will be done shortly following the event and the deposit may be returned 24-48 hours after the event.
The Board is willing to help with advice on details of what is available to use for activities, kitchen operations, cleaning standards and equipment, etc., however YOU are fully responsible for the event and the condition in which the facility is left.
